| Objective To detect the expression of miR-485-5p and miR-942-5p in patients with glioma and its clinical significance. Methods A total of 116 glioma patients admitted to the Second People's Hospital of Liaocheng City from January 2020 to June 2021 were selected. A total of 116 glioma tissues and 116 adjacent tissues were paired and collected. According to whether the patient died, they were grouped into a survival group(59 cases) and a death group(57 cases). QRT-PCR was applied to detect the relative expression levels of miR-485-5p and miR-942-5p in tissues. Clinical and pathological data of glioma patients were collected. Cox regression was applied to analyze the influencing factors of prognosis in patients with glioma. Kaplan-Meier was applied to analyze the impacts of miR-485-5p and miR-942-5p expression on the prognosis of glioma patients. Results The expression of miR-485-5p in glioma tissue was lower than that in adjacent tissues, and the expression of miR-942-5p was higher than that in adjacent tissues(P<0.05). The proportions of grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ tumors, poorly differentiated tumors, and tumors with infiltration depth>1/2 in patients with low expression of miR-485-5p were higher than those in patients with high expression of miR-485-5p; the proportions of age ≥ 60 years, grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ tumors, poorly differentiated tumors, and tumors with infiltration depth>1/2 in patients with high expression of miR-942-5p were higher than those in patients with low expression of miR-942-5p(P<0.05). Age ≥ 60 years, grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ tumors, tumors with infiltration depth>1/2, low expression of miR-485-5p, and high expression of miR-942-5p significantly affected patient prognosis(P<0.05). Age ≥ 60 years, tumor grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ, infiltration depth>1/2, low expression of miR-485-5p and high expression of miR-942-5p were risk factors for death in patients with glioma(P<0.05). The 3-year survival rate of patients with low expression of miR-485-5p was 39.68%(25/63), which was lower than that of patients with high expression of miR-485-5p, which was 64.15%(34/53)(P<0.05); the 3-year survival rate for patients with high expression of miR-942-5p was 35.82%(24/67), markedly lower than that of patients with low expression of miR-942-5p, which was 71.43%(35/49)(P<0.05). Conclusion In glioma tissues, miR-485-5p expression is low, while miR-942-5p expression is high. The expression of these two miRNAs is associated with the survival rate of glioma patients. |
