Policy Statement on AI-Generated Manuscript Content for Anhui Medical Journal
To guarantee the authenticity and originality of academic research and uphold academic integrity, the journal hereby formulates the following policy statement regarding AI-generated content in submitted manuscripts:
I. AI Tools and Authorship
In principle, the journal does not accept manuscripts listing any AI tool as an author. Likewise, references shall not include publications where an AI is designated as an author. All authors must be natural persons who can take legal responsibility for the authenticity, completeness, scientific soundness and other aspects of the manuscript. If it is identified that the main content of a manuscript is generated by artificial intelligence tools, such submission will be treated with academic misconduct.
II. Labeling and Disclosure of AI-Generated Content
Authors must clearly indicate the source of all AI-generated content, including but not limited to linguistic polishing, data tables and figures, data collection and analysis. Detailed disclosure of AI usage shall be provided in the Methods, Conclusion or other appropriate sections of the manuscript, specifying the exact AI tool adopted, the scope and extent of AI-generated content, as well as the role of AI throughout manuscript development, so that peer reviewers and the editorial office to assess the originality of the work. Manuscripts suspected of academic misconduct will be directly rejected or retracted.
III. Restrictions on AI-Generated Content
AI-generated content shall not constitute the core research findings or innovative highlights of a manuscript. The central research hypothesis, experimental design, data analysis and interpretation must derive from the researcher’s independent in-depth analysis and independent judgment.
IV. Peer Review and Supervision
The journal will implement a rigorous peer review mechanism to thoroughly examine all submissions for authenticity, reliability, and compliance with this policy. Depending on the severity of violations, disciplinary measures include manuscript rejection, published article retraction, and blacklisting of the authors.
The editorial team will keep track of advances in artificial intelligence technology and revise this policy statement in a timely manner to accommodate evolving requirements for academic research.
This policy statement shall take effect on the date of issuance and apply to all manuscripts submitted to the journal.
