Objective To investigate the clinical effects of adaptive biofeedback training (ABT) together with nursing intervention on functional constipation(FC), and provide evidences for improving our clinical nurses. Methods Fifty FC patients with dyssynergic defecation in the Outpatient Department from May, 2014 to October, 2015 were enrolled to receive ABT together with nursing intervention, 5 times every treatment course. Then their clinical symptoms, mental state before the treatment and at the end of treatment with AB together with nursing intervention were respectively evaluated by symptom score, self-rating anxiety scale(SAS), and self-rating depression scale(SDS).Results In the post-treatment with ABT together with nursing intervention, there was very significant decrease in total and subscale scores of clinical symptoms, including difficult defecation, abnormal appearance of defecation, defecation time, sensation of rectal tenesmus, defecation frequency, and abdominal distension(P<0.05). In addition, SAS and SDS were obviously decreased after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Adaptive biofeedback training together with nursing intervention can improve the clinical symptoms, relieve their anxiety and depression state, and improve the quality of life in patients with FC. |
