Objective To explore the current situation of overweight and obesity among preschool children in Hefei and the effect of dietary status on overweight and obesity. Methods A total of 2768 children from 11 kindergartens in Hefei were selected by the method of stratified cluster sampling. The incidence of overweight and obesity of preschool children was investigated through the questionnaire of Health and Development of Preschool Children compiled by the School of Public Health of Anhui Medical University. Univariate analysis was used to analyze the possible influencing factors of overweight and obesity in children, and Logistic regression analysis was employed to analyze the risk factors of overweight and obesity in children. Results Among the 2755 children surveyed, the incidence of overweight, obesity, overweight and obesity was 9.22%, 4.94%, 14.20%, respectively. Univariate analysis showed that compared with normal weight children, there were significant differences in sex, age, economic status, birth weight, mode of delivery, parents'somatotype and eating behavior (P<0.05). Logistic regression showed that boys, cesarean section, parents' obesity and fatty diet are the risk factors of overweight and obesity in children. Poor family economic status, sometimes or need to be fed in dietary behavior, sometimes or always can not eat happily, generally picky eating, slow eating speed or generally are protective factors for overweight and obesity in children. Conclusion The prevalence rate of overweight and obesity among preschool children in Hefei is high, but it is lower than that of some cities in China, which is related to boys, cesarean section,parents'obesity and some bad dietary behaviors. |
