Objective To investigate the effects of integrated psycho-behavioral therapy on breast cancer patients complicated with insomnia and anxiety, depression state during chemotherapy. Methods We enrolled 120 patients with breast cancer complicated with insomnia and anxiety/depressionin the Medical Oncology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from Jan. 2019 to June2020. They were randomly divided into control group (60 cases) and observation group (60 cases). The patients inobservation group received the integrated psycho-behavioral therapy for consecutive 12 weeks with follow up visits. We evaluated the sleep quality (Insomnia Severity Index, ISI), emotional state (self-rating depression scale, SDS and self-rating anxiety scale, SAS) and life quality (the MOS item short from health survey, SF-36) of control grouppatients and observation grouppatientsbefore and week 4, week8, week12 after interventions. Results Compared with before intervention, the ISI, SDS and SAS scores of the two groups significantly declined at the end of week 8 and week 12 after the intervention, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). At the end of week 4 after intervention, there was also a decreasing trend, but the difference was not statistically significant. The SF-36 scores in both groups increased at the end of week 12 after the intervention, which had statistically significantdifference compared with those before intervention (P<0.001). Compared with control group, the SF-36 score was higher at the end of the 12th week of intervention (t=-2.484, P=0.018).The total abscission rate of control group was obviously higher than that of observation group (χ2=14.803, P<0.001). Conclusions The integrated psycho-behavioral therapy model could effectively alleviate the sleep and emotional disorders inbreast cancer patients, and improve the quality of life. The abscission rate decreasesin the integrated psycho-behavioral therapy. |
