Objective To observe the effect and safety of Qijiao Tongluo lotion foot bath in patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy(DPN) of Qi Yin deficiency syndrome. Methods A total of 64 patients diagnosed with Qi Yin deficiency syndrome DPN admitted to Anhui Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from August 2022 to March 2024 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into an intervention group of 32 cases and a control group of 32 cases using a random number table method. The control group received routine treatment, while the intervention group received foot baths with traditional Chinese medicine Qijiao Tongluo lotion on the basis of the control group.The TCM syndrome scores(main symptoms include limb pain, limb coldness, limb numbness, and sensory decline;secondary symptoms include soreness, muscle atrophy, fatigue, and insomnia), Toronto Clinical System Score(TCSS), therapeutic effect, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. Results After the intervention, the TCSS scores and TCM syndrome scores in both groups decreased compared to those before the intervention, and the TCSS scores(sensory scores, symptom scores) and TCM syndrome scores in the intervention group decreased more significantly(P<0.05). The difference in scores of various traditional Chinese medicine syndromes and TCSS scores before and after treatment in the intervention group was more apparent than that in the control group(P<0.05). The total effective rate of the intervention group(90.6%) was higher than that of the control group(61.3%)(P<0.05);The effective rate of TCSS score in the intervention group(90.6%) was higher than that in the control group(51.6%)(P<0.05); There were no significant adverse reactions observed in the two groups of patients during treatment. Conclusion Qijiao Tongluo lotion foot bath intervention has a definite effect on DPN of Qi Yin deficiency syndrome, which can significantly improve patients’ clinical symptoms, enhance efficacy, and have high safety. |
