Objective To investigate the changes of serum chemokine CXCL13 levels in patients with bronchial asthma and its siganificance in asthma. Methods 32 cases of acute attack of bronchial asthma,31 cases of chronic persistent period from outpatient department and department of Geriatric Pulmonary and Critical Care, the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and 19 healthy persons in the same period as the normal control group were selected.and tested for serum CXCL13, IgE, IL-4, peripheral Eosinophil (EOS) count and lung function test(FVC%,FEVI%,FEVI/FVC), and the data were analyzed. Results The levels of CXCL13, IgE, IL-4 and EOS% in acute episode of bronchial asthma were significantly higher than those in the chronic duration group and the normal control group (P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between the level of serum CXCL13 and IgE, IL-4, in the patients with acute attack of bronchial asthma (r=0.507、0.334、0.586,P<0.05), and a negative correlation between the level of serum CXCL13 and FEV1% (r=-0.389,P<0.05).Conclusion Serum CXCL/3 may play an inflammatory role in the development of bronchial asthma. |
