Objective To understand the detection of thyroid nodules in healthy people in Hefei area by analyzing the results of thyroid ultrasound detection in healthy people, and analyze the related factors affecting the occurrence of thyroid nodules, so as to guide the effective prevention and treatment of thyroid nodules in this area. Methods Random number table method was used to select 500 people who underwent thyroid color Doppler ultrasound and physical examination in the Physical Examination Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from June 2017 to June 2020 as the research objects. The general data of the research objects, such as age, gender, height, weight, smoking, drinking, etc.,were collected and divided into groups. At the same time, according to the results of thyroid ultrasound, the subjects were divided into thyroid nodules (TN) group and non thyroid nodules (NTN) group. Results A total of 500 healthy subjects, aged between 24 and 90 years old, were included in the study. A total of 133 thyroid nodules were detected, with a total detection rate of 26.6%. The detection rate of thyroid nodules in men (21.0%) was lower than that in women (30.9%), and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=6.249,P=0.012).The examination found that the probability of thyroid nodules was the highest among people over 40 years old, accounting for 29.7%, the detection rate was the second among people over 20 years old, accounting for 18.3%, and the detection rate was the lowest among people aged 60~90 years old, accounting for 6.1%. There was significant difference in the detection rate of thyroid nodules among the three age groups (χ2=30.812, P<0.001).Female (OR=1.687, 95% CI:1.117~2.540) and over weight (OR=1.565, 95% CI:1.039~2.358) were independent risk factors for thyroid nodules. Conclusions The detection rate of thyroid nodules in women is significantly higher than that in men in Hefei area. 40-59 years old is the high risk age of thyroid nodules. Gender, overweight/obesity are independent risk factors for thyroid nodules. Therefore, it is of great clinical significance for the early prevention and treatment of thyroid diseases to popularize thyroid color Doppler ultrasound in healthy people, especially middle-aged women. |
