Objective To investigate the spiritual health status of patients with lung cancer undergoing chemotherapy in China and its correlation with hope level, social support and immune function. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among 110 lung cancer patients who were hospitalized for chemotherapy in Nantong Sixth People's Hospital from December 2019 to September 2020 by convenient sampling. General information questionnaire, Chinese version of chronic disease treatment function assessment spirituality scale, Chinese version of hope scale, and social support rating scale were used to investigate. The number of immune cells in venous blood samples were collected and detected. Results In 110 patients with lung cancer chemotherapy, the total score of spiritual health was(33.07±10.26). Spiritual health was positively correlated with level of hope(39.16±5.21, r=0.741, P<0.001), social support(31.89±7.51, r=0.232, P=0.046), CD4+T cell percentage(r=0.427, P=0.018) and IL-2 concentration(r=0.403, P<0.001). T cell percentage and IL-2 concentration were different in patients with different times of chemotherapy and different living conditions, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusions Spiritual health of lung cancer patients with chemotherapy is at a medium level. In clinical practice, by improving patients' hope level and giving high-level and multi-dimensional social support, we can improve patients' spiritual health, enhance immune function and improve disease resistance. |
