Objective To explore the timing of erosive gingival oral lichen planus combined with periodontitis drugs and periodontal basic treatment. Methods Thirty-three cases of erosive gingival oral lichen planus with periodontitis patients treated in the Department of Periodontal Mucosa of Hefei Stomatological Hospital from June 2020 to September 2022 were selected, then the patients were randomly divided into group A(n=12, initial periodontal treatment was given one week after drug treatment), Group B(n=10, the drug treatment was given one week after the initial periodontal treatment), and group C(n=11, which received periodontal initial therapy and drug therapy simultaneously) by random sampling method. The changes in the gingival pain(NRS) of patients in three groups were observed respectively before, 1 week and 6weeks after treatment, as well as the plaque index(PLI), bleeding index(BI), probing depth(PD), clinical attachment loss(CAL) were recorded before treatment and 6 weeks after treatment. Results There was no significant difference in NRS scores among the three groups at different time points(P>0.05), but there were time effects and interaction effects. One week after treatment, the difference in NRS scores before and after treatment among thethree groups was statistically significant(P<0.05), and the difference in groups A and C was greater than that of group B(P<0.05). There were no significant differences in PLI, BI, PD and CAL before treatment among the groups(P>0.05), and improvement could beobserved six weeks after treatment(P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in periodontal indexes(PLI, BI, PD, CAL) before and after treatment(P>0.05). Conclusions The clinical symptoms of patients with erosive gingival OLP accompanied by periodontitis can be improved by the combination of drugs and periodontal basic treatment at different time. The drug treatment given 1 week before or at the same time of periodontal basic treatment can relieve the gingival pain during periodontal treatment. |
