| Objective To investigate the occurrence of adverse reactions of sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drugs in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM), and analyze the influencing factors. Methods A total of 206 T2DM patients admitted to our hospital from November 2022 to June 2024 were all given sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drugs to monitor the adverse reactions of patients during medication, and were divided into adverse reaction group(45 cases) and no adverse reaction group(161 cases). The baseline data and laboratory indicators of the patients were collected, and the influencing factors related to the adverse reactions of sulfonylureas were screened by multivariate logistic regression model. Results Of 206 T2DM patients receiving sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drugs, 45 cases had adverse reactions(21.84%). These included 22 cases of hypoglycemia, 13 cases of gastrointestinal discomfort, 6 cases of skin allergy, and 4 cases of weight gain. Compared with the non-adverse reaction group, the proportion of patients in the adverse reaction group who were ≥ 60 years old, hypertension, and had a history of taking sulfonylurea drugs was higher, with statistical significance(P< 0.05). There were no significant differences in gender composition, BMI, smoking history, drinking history, course of disease, history of drug allergy, types of sulfonylureas, HbAlc and FPG between the two groups(P> 0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that patients aged ≥ 60 years old, hypertension, and history of taking sulfonylureas were all risk factors for adverse reactions to sulfonylureas(P< 0.05). Conclusion The adverse reactions caused by sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drugs during treatment mainly include hypoglycemia, gastrointestinal discomfort, skin allergies, weight gain, etc. Patient age, hypertension, and previous history of sulfonylurea drug use are all influencing factors for sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drug adverse reactions in T2DM patients. |
